William Kyle Rote Sr. was an American professional football player who was a running back and wide receiver for eleven years in the National Football League for the New York Giants. He was an All-American running back for the SMU Mustangs and was the first overall selection of the 1951 NFL draft. The Legend of Kyle Rote was hosted by Paul Hornung in 1975.
