Robert Lawrence Layne was an American professional football player who was a quarterback for 15 seasons in the National Football League. He played college football for the Texas Longhorns before being selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the third overall pick of the 1948 NFL draft and traded to the Chicago Bears. The Legend of Bobby Layne was hosted by Paul Hornung in 1975.
